PHILOSOPHY

In order to strengthen and perpetuate our democratic way of life and freedom, it is necessary to develop well-informed citizens having a desire to learn, who are willing to accept responsibility and are able to adjust to our rapidly changing society. This can best be accomplished through cooperative efforts by parents, students, teachers, administrators, the Board of Education, and the community to focus upon the needs, interests, and abilities of each student in addition to the needs of society in general and of the Colome community.

Our purpose is to prepare citizens for full and responsible participation in a pluralistic democracy. Students must acquire and develop the ability to think critically, to understand contradictions, and to respect differing points of views.
